There are certain strains that stick with you, and for me, Peninsula Gardens’ Electric Peanut Butter Cookie is one of them. When I first moved to Michigan, it quickly became one of my favorite flowers, so naturally, seeing it crossed with Sour Rozay had me excited to see what this new pheno could bring to the table.

In this Peninsula Gardens Electric Kool-Aid #6 Review, we’re diving into a flower that brings back some familiar memories while introducing a brighter, sweeter Z influence. Between its nostalgic aroma, evolving flavor, and one of the most impressive burns I’ve seen recently, there’s quite a bit to unpack with this one!

Taste: Right off the bat, Electric Kool-Aid #6 reminds me heavily of the original Electric Peanut Butter Cookie that I remember loving. However, I have to give this cross credit for bringing something a little brighter to the table.

About halfway through my doink, the familiar Peanut Butter Cookie flavor began taking a backseat, allowing a sweeter Z profile to make its appearance. This was easily my favorite part of the flavor transition. Unfortunately, as I worked my way toward the end, a heavier smoky background began creeping in, muddying up some of those brighter notes. By the final few pulls, I was left with a mixture of smoke, lingering peanut butter cookie, and just a little zest dancing around my taste buds.

Not necessarily a bad smoke, but I would’ve loved to see those brighter flavors carry through the entirety of the joint.

Smell: Now THIS is where Electric Kool-Aid #6 had me hooked! Peninsula Gardens’ original Electric Peanut Butter Cookie was one of my favorite strains when I first moved to Michigan, and cracking into this flower immediately reminded me why. The familiar aroma comes rushing out, carrying that unmistakable Electric Peanut Butter Cookie character, only this time accompanied by some beautifully smooth Z notes.

It’s nostalgic, sweet, and easily my favorite characteristic of this particular pheno. If you’ve enjoyed the original as much as I have, I think you’ll appreciate what Peninsula Gardens has done with the nose on this one.

Look: Electric Kool-Aid #6 presents itself with a predominantly light green appearance, accompanied by scattered orange hairs weaving throughout the flower. The nugs in my eighth weren’t particularly enormous, and while trichomes were certainly present, I wouldn’t describe this batch as being completely buried in frost. Overall, the appearance is pleasant, but compared to some of the more visually striking flower we’ve reviewed recently, this one isn’t necessarily winning the bag appeal competition.

Texture: One thing I’ve noticed with a lot of flower coming through Michigan’s METRC market lately is how similar the textures are beginning to feel, but that’s a conversation for another day! Electric Kool-Aid #6 follows a fairly familiar Peninsula Gardens consistency. The nugs aren’t overly moist or sticky, instead offering a lighter, fluffier structure that still feels fresh enough to work with. Once introduced to my Santa Cruz Shredder, the flower breaks down incredibly easily, producing a fine, almost cake-like consistency. Nothing particularly groundbreaking here, but certainly nothing that had me disappointed either.

Preferred Consumption Method: For this Peninsula Gardens Electric Kool-Aid #6 Review, I decided to give the flower a proper test with one of my preferred setups:

● 2 grams of flower, broken down by hand

● Super Dope King Size Wide rice papers

● 12mm RipTip

● Rolled into a proper doink

This setup allowed me to experience how the flavor developed throughout the joint while getting a good look at its overall burn quality.

Ash: Holy smokes! If there’s one category where Peninsula Gardens absolutely knocked it out of the park, it’s this one. Electric Kool-Aid #6 produced a gorgeous pearl-to-pale-pastel ash that remained incredibly consistent throughout the session. When people talk about chasing that picture-perfect white ash, THIS is the type of burn I want to see! Following closely behind was a beautiful, consistent oil ring that developed early and continued throughout the doink. Regardless of my mixed feelings toward the flavor transition, I have absolutely no complaints about the visual performance of this burn. Easily one of the most impressive characteristics of this batch.

Final Thoughts: Wrapping up this Peninsula Gardens Electric Kool-Aid #6 Review, I think this is a particularly interesting flower for anyone who remembers and appreciates the original Electric Peanut Butter Cookie. The aroma alone brought back memories of some of my earliest favorite Michigan flower, while the addition of Sour Rozay introduced a brighter Z influence that I genuinely enjoyed. Although I would’ve preferred a cleaner flavor transition toward the end of the joint, the outstanding ash, consistent oil ring, and familiar nose make this pheno worth discussing. Would I choose it over the original Electric Peanut Butter Cookie? Based on flavor alone, probably not. But would I revisit it for that incredible smell and beautiful burn? Absolutely!
